Resumo

Carlos Mugoma is an Agronomist from Universidade Eduardo Mondlane in Mozambique and specialized in Agribusiness Management from the University of Queensland in Australia. He worked over 30 years withing the agriculture/Agribusiness industry. He was the Technical Lead at DAI/InovAgro (2018-2020), a MSD project being implemented in Nampula, Zambézia and Cabo Delgado Provinces, benefiting over 30,000 small scale farmers and around 60 rural SMEs. Prior to that, he was the Provincial Coordinator for the Sustenta project, under the Funding of the World Bank. The project was develop sustainable value chains through integration of small scale farmers around rural SMEs. He also managed the Millennium Challenge Account Mozambique Land Tenure project. A $42 million project under the funding of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, benefiting over 200 000 land occupants over a period of five years. In the first half of his career, Carlos Mugoma, undertook the positions of Provincial Director of Agricultue in two northern Mozambique provinces (Cabo Delgado and Nampula), and worked for Tongaat Hullet as Agricultural Manager at Mafambisse Sugar Estate, which was rehabilitated under the Funding of the African Development Bank Group to bring it at original capacity of 69000 tons of sugar reached in 1976, five years after its entering in operation in 1971.
