Managed the following Democracy, Rights, and Governance Projects: ■ Justice Sector Technical Support Activity for the Tribunal Supremo (JUSTA - TS). The purpose of the project was to increase the capacity of the Supreme Court to adjudicate crimes related to corruption, human rights, and biodiversity. Total budget: $3,195,000 (September 2022 - December 2027). ■ Justice Sector Technical Support Activity for the Procuradoria-Geral da República (JUSTA - PGR). The purpose of the project was to increase the capacity of PGR to prosecute crimes related to corruption, human rights, and biodiversity. Total budget: $1,005,000 (December 2022 - December 2025). ■ Dialogue for Participatory Electoral Reform (DIALOGO). The project aimed to advance the implementation of key electoral reforms for a more inclusive, transparent, and credible electoral process in Mozambique. Total budget: $1,500,000 (September 2022 - December 2027). ■ Promoting Democracy and Human Rights (DIREITOS). The purpose of this project was to raise awareness within the community to create demand for human and political rights, as well as to provide institutional capacity building and advocacy directed at public social services providers to improve service delivery to the community. Total b budget: $2,300,000 (June 2023 - June 2025) ■ Activity Manager of Mozambique: Supporting Human Rights Defenders in the Election Period. The purpose of this project was to enable the Mozambican Network of Human Rights Defenders (RMDDH) to respond to rising threats against human rights defenders and the closing of civic space ahead of and throughout the October 2024 elections. Total budget: $375,205. ○ Supported the A/COR in program management and reporting requirements for the Preventing Violent Extremism and Building Social Cohesion in the Northern Region of Mozambique Program. ○ Supported the consultation meeting to assess the 2023 Municipal elections and to inform future Democracy and Governance programming. ○ Served as a
Arranged travel and transportation for the REGO office. Submitted visitor’s access request to visitors and escorted them inside the Embassy. Provided general administrative support. Booked conference rooms and helped set up hybrid meetings. Managed office supplies. Served as a TEC member in the onboarding of the REGO intern and other recruitments. Managed office correspondence. Supported the draft of response letter to unsolicited proposals sent to REGO. Supported the premiere of USAID’s film: Empowering Women and Girls, Conserving Nature and Gorongosa film event. Supported the REGO and BHA team addressing IT-related issues. This included: installing and fixing printers, adjusting monitors in the new workstations, updating telephone names and numbers, etc.
Drafted, translated and revised speeches and other documents; Accompanied the Ambassador and other senior officials to external events; Supported the organization of events such as virtual consultation meetings, business breakfast, energy cluster meeting. Drafted formal replies, invitation letters, follow-up letters and other formal documents Supported the #DriveForDemocracy campaign Mapped key political players in Mozambique Updated Politics, Promotion & Communication events’ calendar; Provided readouts and comments on several technical documents such as government official documents; Supported the planning and distribution of 171 Lucia Bags for Embassies, Government officials, MP and other development partners; Researched and provided updated and accurate information on several issues related to Mozambique’s politics, Cabo Delgado, Political figures, accountability institutions, youth, etc.
○ Under AOR supervision, evaluated performance reports for compliance with agreed milestones indicators. This included several performance reports and a closeout plan. Also discussed with government counterparts the main challenges faced in completing each milestone. ○ Assisted DRG team in identifying and scheduling consultation meetings with government counterparts both at the national level (National Health Inspection; National Education Inspection; National Water Management Directorate) and in Zambézia province (Provincial Directorate of Finance, Quelimane City Council; Provincial Directorate of Education; Provincial Directorate of Health). ○ Assisted a TDYer and a Senior Advisor from USAID Washington - the Centre for Democracy, Rights and Governance during a consultation in Zambézia province. This included scheduling meetings, organizing transportation, translating, note-taking, helping them understand the local culture and contextualizing their interview questions. ○ Collaborated in CDCS design -phase zero (this included reviewing previous GRM policies in the DRG sector; identifying GRM priorities for 2020-2024 and linking them with current USAID programs). ○ With the support of the DRG team, drafted DRG success stories and factsheets to be used in USAID 35 anniversary commemoration. ○ As a TEC member, evaluated an application to implement a DRG activity on Media Strengthening focusing on PWD. ○ Reviewed and commented on Program Documents (Social Accountability, Civic engagement for Strengthened Accountability, Community Radio Assistance for Greater Empowerment of Mozambicans), bills (fiscal decentralization for provincial governments) and other reports;
○ Exercised a pivotal role as the primary liaison for the company, before government authorities such as the Tax Authority, INSS, and the Ministry of Labor. ○ Proactively engaged with potential partners, including industry leaders such as Heineken, Puma, Millennium Bim, and Standard Bank, fostering strategic relationships vital to the company's growth and success. This resulted in a successful partnership with Puma and Heineken. ○ Tested company services for bugs and other improvements. ○ Coordinated the successful launch of the company's application and operations in Mozambique. ○ Recruited and trained more than 50 service providers. ○ Managed an award program, recognizing and incentivizing best drivers and service providers. ○ Organized and updated a wide range of HR files and administrative records for the company.
