Duartina Francisco is an international development professional with 19 years’ experience in the planning, implementation, and management of Environment and public health programs. She has a special interest in program Planning, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation and capacity building. She has worked closely with Ministry of Environmental, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Agriculture staff at national, provincial and district level in Mozambique. Currently working as Vector Control Manager and acting chief of party, under the recent USAID funded Presidential Malaria Initiative (PMI) Evolve project led all vector control activities strategies, including strengthening government capacity through Government-to-Government agreements, well known as G2G. She also led activities on gender department which includes women and girl’s inclusion/empowerment of project activities. Duartina worked as Country Operations Manager under the USAID-funded PMI VectorLink Project over 4 years, where she led the planning and implementation of indoor residual spraying (IRS) activities in 5 districts districts in the Zambezia province with Technical assistance to Nampula, Inhambane, Gaza and Maputo provinces to strengthening capacity to the government staff and programs. In addition, she played leadership roles in the capacity building and technical assistance efforts to the Mozambique Ministry of Health. She facilitated at different training workshops and provided technical assistance to the NMCP. She facilitated at different training workshops and provided technical assistance to the NMCP in the planning and implementation of an emergency Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) in Sofala province when Cyclone Idai hit Sofala province in 2019 and recently in Zambezia during Freddy cyclone period. Recently, she played a key role in leading the development of a Government to Government (G2G) agreement activity and budget plan.
