
SUMMARY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS Dr. Ana Margarida Miranda Baptista is a Mozambican physician and public health and clinical expert with nine years of experience working in gender based violence, HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, PMTCT, tuberculosis, sexual and reproductive health, maternal-child and adolescent health, IPC, hospital, workplace safety and health program management. Her background includes training and institutional designing, and instruction on (GBV) Gender Based Violence, Post Exposure Prophylaxis and Workplace Safety and Health Program implementation in Mozambique. In her current position, Dr. Ana Baptista serves as the Gender Based Violence Team Leader for Jhpiego Mozambique. She provides technical and programmatic leadership to a portfolio of Gender and Gender Based Violence activities, leading the integration of Gender Based Violence within the HIV Counseling and Testing platform, and scaling up PEP provision for survivors of sexual violence in 42 health facilities across the country. In her role as Gender Based Violence Technical Coordinator, Dr. Ana Baptista successfully advocated for and supported the process of developing and adapting performance standards for Integrated Care for Gender Based Violence and quality improvement. To date, under Dr. Ana Baptista’s supervision, Jhpiego is taking the leadership on GBV activities. Dr. Baptista is a dynamic program manager and she has served as a trainer in basic clinical skills for management of GBV survivors, workplace safety and post exposure prophylaxis. She implements standards-based management and quality improvement for Jhpiego’s GBV program through detailed monitoring and evaluation of program activities and results. Through her supervision and leadership of the GBV program, she has supported the MOH to develop a more self- sufficient national program.
