
My name is Abilio Cossa. For 14 years I have been working with development programs supported by the American Government, through USAID, and the Government of Canada in Mozambique. As Consultant my experience includes working with international coorporations such the World Bank Group, the High Commission of Canada in Mozambique, Chemonics International Inc, Abt Associates Inc, DAI, and Doctors without Borders (MSF Belgic). For the World Bank Group, I was responsible for documenting and showcase (reports, videos, and photos) best practices, results and lessons learned on resilient rehabilitation of conventional classrooms and desalinization plants constructed under the Emergency Resilient Recovery Project in Gaza, Zambezia and Nampula. During my career, I developed expertise in designing and implementing strategic communications plans; documentation of success stories and best practices, managing incoming media requests and proactive media opportunities through press briefings and technical events at international and national levels. In addition, I have been training staff from different organizations in strategic communication and digital media management. I have a degree in Journalism and strong background in Law (now writing my dissertation on local content legislation).
