I have over 15 years of experience in the monitoring and assessment of artisanal and commercial fisheries resources, both inland and marine waters in Mozambique. I have joined several research expeditions with scientific research vessels and commercial fisheries vessels. I am competent in planning the data collection and analysis of dependent and independent fisheries-related data; assessment of the interactions of fishing activities with charismatic species; coordination of work teams; writing and reviewing technical-scientific reports; and supervising students’ thesis work and scientific research work. I have been working with multidisciplinary groups to ensure the ultimate goal of sustainable use of marine and coastal resources and ecosystems throughout Mozambique. I led from 2012 to 2019 the scientific research team with seven researchers as the head of the Department of Fish Assessment and research activities necessary to support the implementation of a seven-year project on the small-scale Fishery Promotion Project (ProPESCA) along the Mozambican coast. I represented the country in several working forums of science related to fish resources and my contribution as a fisheries researcher extends from the local and regional to international dimensions. I am dynamic, open to discussing constructive ideas, and capable of seeking effective solutions to complex problems to achieve objectives. I am an excellent professional, with a good level of leadership and a desire to constantly learn and teach team members for the benefit of the organization I work for and for individual professional growth.
