Superintendent Purchasing

BHP Billiton is recruiting a Superintendent Purchasing to be based in Boane.

Duties

• Create/maintain a closed collaboration relationship with the Contracts, Maintenance, Production and Inventory Teams
• Ensure operational materials and services required are met as well as provided in line with schedules
• Establish/Maintain relationships with suppliers to track and measure quality and payments in full and on time
• Track targets and team performance by studying key analytical data for business warehouse reports
• For off Contract purchase, review, release non-traded goods and service purchase orders to ensure they have been created in accordance with standard procedures
• Assess supplier capability to reduce risks
• Ensure request for data follow standard guidelines and procedures
• Maintain accuracy
• Promote operating discipline related to 1SAP processes and ensure compliance to GLD requirements
• Oversee efforts to drive performance of end to end purchasing processes
• Lead, coach and mentor team members to ensure delivery against performance targets; promote a culture of continuous improvement and build a high performance team
• Lead and manage purchasing activities across multiple operations to ensure operational procurement needs are met in a timely and effective manner

Requisites

• Bachelor's degree in Administration and Management or Commerce, Law, Engineering or related disciplines
• At least 6 years of relevant experience that includes 2 years leading a team of 4 to 10 individuals
