Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition is recruiting a SUN Business Network Team Leader, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Description
  • The SUN Business Network Team Leader will be responsible for implementing the newly launched SBN in Mozambique and for managing the Catalysing Private Sector Participation in Scaling Up Nutrition in Mozambique Programme. The SUN Business Network Lead will oversee the day to day management of a small team
  • S/He will lead on the development of network’s membership platform, nutrition workforce and school feeding activities. This will require managing/supporting high level stakeholder relationships with business, government, donors and civil society
Duties
  • Responsible for managing and implementing four priority areas for the Catalysing Private Sector Participation in Scaling Up Nutrition in Mozambique Programme which will:
  • Manage and expand the SBN in Mozambique’s membership platform through:
  • Recruiting business, developing and tracking business commitments to nutrition
  • Ensuring the network improves the enabling environment within Mozambique to incentivize greater business engagement in nutrition – through developing key relationships with government and other stakeholders
  • The development of Workforce Nutrition initiatives by business
  • Identifying potential business investments in nutrition related products and services, including those that support school feeding
  • The development of an Investment Fund that finances the business investments identified
  • Manages the SBN in Mozambique; supports key national stakeholder relationships at a high level, in particular the private sector, government, SBN in Mozambique Advisory group, SBN Secretariat and national co-conveners (WFP and GAIN)
  • Delivery and management of donor reporting (narrative and financial)
  • Develop strategies for the long-term sustainability for the SBN in Mozambique
  • Acts as an advocate for private sector engagement in nutrition in Mozambique
  • Line manages the SBN in Mozambique team
  • Ensures there is regular collaboration with the Global SBN team in London
  • Reports to Country Director, GAIN Mozambique
  • Regular engagement with the SBN in Mozambique co-convenors (Country Directors, GAIN & WFP), Government and Private Sector at national level
  • Line manages the Impact Model Managers (x2), Planning & Communications Manager and Private Sector Expert
  • Close collaboration with the Finance and Contracts Officer and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in the GAIN Mozambique office
  • Liaises regularly with SBN Global team (London)
Requisites
  • Excellent and proven project management skills
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of business investment contribution to development
  • Extensive experience of partnership building and brokering between business and other stakeholders, with a strong record of negotiation
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to take the initiative
  • Ability to deliver high quality outputs under tight timelines
  • Ability to analyse complex challenges and recommend ways forward
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to operate comfortably at senior levels with government, business, civil society and donors
  • Ability to adapt and work within a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment
  • Extensive contacts private sector within in the region
  • Strong experience of working with business is essential, including experience of working with mechanisms that catalyze business partnerships and investments
  • Managing a team and large budgets
  • Working with stakeholders from business, civil society, government, donors at national international level
  • Experience in working across sectors to deliver complex projects/programmes
  • Qualified Masters’ degree level in management/economics/business or an equivalent experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel in country and a small number of global trips
  • The applicant should be a Mozambique national or have the legal right to work/reside in Mozambique
  • Fluent in both English and Portuguese is essential
