DKT Mozambique is recruiting a Senior Accountant, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- Prepare regular and special reports providing clear and specific explanations when needed
- Audit
- Explain the terms of reference for audits to staff and to sub-recipients
- Assist in the execution of the Audit providing all facilities and the required information
- Respond to and assist in resolution of the Audit recommendations
- Fulfill financial functions according to given timelines
- Elaborate financial reports in agreement with established schedules
- Execution, supervision and control of the accounting functions: general ledger, payables, payroll, property and budget reporting
- Complete reports and budgets before approval/deadline dates so that adequate discussion, editing and modifications can be considered and incorporated into the final draft
- Financial and budgeting execution
- Process advances, liquidations, deposits and expenditures
- Communicate quarterly cash projections
- Establish procedures for preventive and corrective actions
Requisites
- The incumbent will have a minimum of Bachelor Degree in Accounting and/or Business Administration with at least 5 years experience in private or social service institutions
- Previous experience with international and/or local NGOs will be an advantage
- Certified Accounting credentials
- Computer training in one or more commonly used accounting programs
- Able to work in a fast paced and demanding environment
- Able to be an essential member of a dynamic and multipurpose team
- Confident interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable in the application of Mozambican financial regulations
- English written and spoken fluently
- Provides accounting policy orientation to new staff
