PRI is recruiting a Quarry General Manager, to be based in Cabo delgado.
Duties
- Actively engage with and lead all stakeholders
 
- Manage quarry design, planning and implementation process
 
- Coordinate with and manage potential Quarry Operator on all required activities as to bring Quarry ready for operational phase and within the established timeline and framework
 
- Follow up on and manage external advisors supporting Licensing requirements including potential ownership transfers and regulatory compliance
 
Responsibilities during operational phase
- The Quarry Manager will have overall responsibility for managing all aspects of the business (e.g., commercial, financial, operational, legal & regulatory, HR & PR, etc).
 
- Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Commercial 
- Controlling sales and output
 
- Closing and managing commercial contracts and agreements
 
- Financial & Administrative
 
- Responsible for the efficiency and profitability of the quarry
 
- Managing the quarry\'s budget
 
- Providing management with monthly reports and statistics on the quarry\'s performance
 
- Ensuring the Quarry’s budget is managed efficiently and reported on at any interval as requested by shareholders
 
- Maintaining up-to-date records and dealing with a range of administrative requirements
 
Operational
- Checking that the quarry\'s production levels are maintained safely to schedule
 
- Developing and implementing inspection systems and checklists
 
- Closely monitoring all areas of the quarry to ensure that extraction and processing work is carried out as per the agreed highest standard
 
- Assessing equipment and production materials levels
 
- Checking that all vehicles and machinery on site are maintained to a good standard
Legal & Regulatory 
- Ensuring that key government Regulations are maintained throughout the site
 
- Keeping up to date with relevant government legislation and industry developments
 
- Undertaking regular site inspections and risk assessments in order to comply with all regulations
 
HR & PR
- Managing and recruiting staff
 
- Liaising with staff on site and dealing with any technical or staffing challenges that arise
 
- Developing links with local groups, community and organizations
 
Requisites
Basic Job Requirements
- The candidate will ideally have minimum 10 years experience with 5 years experience in management roles in delivering successful projects preferably in the Aggregates and Construction Services sectors
 
- A Business, Project Management or Civil Engineering degree and/or proven expertise in the relevant area is required
 
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
 
- Experience working for Quarries and/or working in Mozambique is preferred
 
- Willingness to live in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique
