US Embassy is recruiting a Purchasing Agent, to be based in Maputo.

Duties
  • The incumbent handles the day-to-day activity of the U.S. Mission procurement office including all purchasing, contracting, and requisitions for all agencies
  • This includes purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, commercial and uniform contracts, requisitions, government purchases, purchase card accounts, and petty cash
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete procurement files, maintain the electronic procurement system, establishing appropriate filing system, and providing necessary reports to post management in accordance with federal regulations
  • A copy of the complete position description listing all duties and responsibilities is available at the Human Resources Office
Requisites
  • Completion of secondary school (12th grade) is required
  • Three years of administrative, purchasing and/or clerical experience is required
  • Level IV (fluency – reading, writing, speaking) in English is required
  • Level IV (fluency reading, writing, speaking) in Portuguese is required
