GAIN is recruiting a Project Associate - mNutrition, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Description
  • The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is driven by the vision of a world without malnutrition. GAIN is a Swiss based international organization that mobilizes public-private partnerships and provides financial and technical support to deliver nutritious foods to those people most at risk of alnutrition. The organization is delivering improved nutrition to an estimated 700 million people in more than 30 countries, half of whom are women and children
  • GAIN fights malnutrition in Mozambique through innovative and sustainable models that increase access to affordable nutritious foods among communities vulnerable to malnutrition
  • The GSM Association (GSMA) mNutrition Initiative aims to create high quality and validated mobile ready content for the development and scale up of mNutrition services through existing platforms. GAIN has been appointed by GSMA as the local content provider (LCP) for the implementation of the initiative in Mozambique
Purpose
  • The Project Associate will support the development of the content for the GSMA mNutrition Initiative in Mozambique
Duties
  • Conducting a scoping exercise to determine the focus of the content to be developed in the Mozambican context
  • Gathering user insights and creating personas
  • Developing localized factsheets from existing global factsheets
  • Developing a minimum of 30 voice transcripts
  • Conducting end user testing of the content
  • Obtaining stakeholder validation of the content
  • Obtaining approval of the content
  • Key Organizational Relationships: GAIN Mozambique country team, Mozambique Ministry of Health (Nutrition and Health Promotion Departments)
Requisites
  • Experience with social and behavior change communication preferred
  • Experience in nutrition highly desirable
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • Clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates good judgment, expert problem solving, and creativity
  • Computer literacy with good Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and Power Point skills
  • Experience in delivering nutrition and/or health communication programs highly desirable
  • Experience with qualitative research preferred
  • Experience in working with officials from the Government of Mozambique highly desirable
  • Experience in a global, multicultural organization highly desirable
  • An undergraduate degree in nutrition or health communication, or a suitable equivalent is required
  • Fluent written and verbal Portuguese
  • Fluent written and verbal English highly desirable
  • A willingness and ability to travel in rural Mozambique
  • Right to work in Mozambique
