Program Manager

IREX is hiring a Program Manager - Community Radios for Nampula.

Duties

• Oversee community radio activities and provide strategic guidance and support to program staff
• Maintain familiarity with cooperative agreement requirements and monitor compliance, deliverables, and deadlines
• Lead the development of and monitor work plans for community radio activities, ensuring deliverables are being met; support program staff in adhering to plan
• Collect and verify financial documentation
• Develop and maintain effective partnerships with community radio networks
• Work with MSP M&E Coordinator to collect M&E data
• Provide and/or develop seminars, workshops, and in-house consultancies for relevant objectives
• In conjunction with IREX/Mozambique and IREX/DC, oversee monitoring of sub grantee funds, activities, and deliverables
• Contribute to reports for donors
• Coordinate the work of Mozambican and international experts
• Establish appropriate partnerships and negotiate terms and scopes of work; maintain effective relations and coordination with partners
• Provide program input and support event planning and coordination
• Provide supervision, mentoring, and guidance to program staff members, including conducting annual staff performance reviews
• Represent IREX/Mozambique effectively
• Other duties as assigned by Chief of Party

Requisites

• Candidates need 3-5 years of experience in the following areas:
• Demonstrated program design and program management experience
• Experience supervising a small team
• Experience in building effective partnerships with local partners
• Experience designing and managing trainings
• Facilitation skills a plus
• Strong writing, and presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and the ability to prioritize
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to be flexible and maintain a sense of humor
• Knowledge of media environment in Mozambique preferred
• International work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa preferred
• Ability to communicate professionally in Portuguese and English required
