Political Section Intern (m/f)

Description

• The British High Commission Maputo has an immediate opening for a Political Section intern. The initial duration is three months, possibly extendable up to six months
• We are looking for a candidate to support the work of the Political Section and assisting in the Chevening scholarship

Duties

• Provide support to Political Team with analysis/research on relevant issues
• Assist with Chevening scholarships. Particularly marketing to find both potential private sector partners and reaching out to the less affluent parts of the country to find the best talent, irrespective of their background, and encourage such applications
• Co-ordinate internal team meetings of the team and calendar
• Support ICCT Secretariat, as directed by members of the team
• Support and help to organize one off/ad hoc events
• Support the Consular/Political assistant

Requisites

• Excellent oral and written English and Portuguese
• Good knowledge of IT (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), internet, and managing digital data
• Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously
• Willingness to learn and contribute to wider activities in the High Commission
