Planner Estimator

Capital Outsourcing is hiring a Planner Estimator for Maputo.

Duties

• Supervise, hire, and evaluate of assigned staff to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems
• Coordinate estimates for projects using software and interfaces to transfer estimate data to data management systems in accounting, scheduling, and project management
• prepare working folders, purchase orders, and other required information necessary for the proper execution of the work
• Implement departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management
• Interpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to staff
• Consult with clients, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate project scope
• Oversee coordination of projects from inception to close out and update project progress activities in project data management systems
• Oversee work in progress to assure that work is being performed as planned, and in compliance with safety codes and safety regulations
• Coordinate with project supervisors and field personnel in handling constructability issues
• Evaluate and determine proposed field changes and estimate change orders
• Coordinate design development estimates from feasibility studies and conceptual design documents provided by others
• Review and analyze design documents to develop time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
• Proactive with process improvement initiatives

Requisites

• Degree in Management / Engineering preferred
• Fluent in English and Portuguese
• Proficiencies & Attributes
• Organized with time management skills
• Excellent PC skills to, amongst other items, prepare MS Project Schedules, MS Excel Spreadsheets and MS Word
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good team building/working skills
• Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and to self prioritize
• Able to follow detailed instructions
• Capable of dealing with high stress levels resulting from continual deadlines
