Eazi Access Rental is recruiting an Operations Manager (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

  • Purpose statement: To ensure effective management of the country operations functions. To implement and maintain the company operations strategy, to deliver the customer service objectives and to work cross functionally with the commercial business to operationally support the achievement of the commercial strategy

Budget Management
  • Assist Regional General Manager in establishing country operations budgets along with evaluation of budget to actual on monthly basis
  • Monthly report in income statement meeting on areas of concern and overspend as well as possible solutions in country service-related areas
  • Implement and manage company Financial Control Policies and Procedures in the country
  • Report monthly on country operations performance along with action plans
Operations management
  • Ensure management of the tracking and control systems for the equipment to understand the location and status of each asset always
  • Maintain and improve asset availability and condition
  • Benchmark quality standards to be implemented and maintained on equipment and vehicles
  • Ensure a service plan to properly maintain and service all the equipment and vehicles to ensure they are serviced and maintained according to manufacture specifications and service bulletins
  • Optimize availability of the country fleet, trucks, and vehicles
  • Assist in technical issues raised by the country
  • Monthly Customer site visits to ensure customer satisfaction with machine quality and ensure quality standard of equipment is being maintained
  • Management of service (workshop and field), breakdowns and logistics departments
  • Responsible for movement of equipment
  • Adhere to, execute, and enforce all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Monitor and direct all country operations and performance
  • Update Regional General Manager in terms of agreed key performance indicators weekly and monthly
  • Takes responsibility for customer service levels and maintains customer relationship standards
  • Optimize and control country inventory Asset Management
  • Manage the vehicle and truck fleet
  • Ensure that all licensing and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Ensure that all the supporting assets are properly serviced, maintained and tracked Supplier relationships
  • Build and maintain relationships with all the key local suppliers to the business for technical and service support
  • Build and maintain the technical capability of the business through supplier accreditation/assistance Customer Service
  • Collaborate with the Sales manager and commercial team to operationally support delivery of the sales and commercial objectives
  • Develop and maintain appropriate operational infrastructure and resources in the country to support revenue growth and commercial activity
  • Manages customers service complaints and breakdowns
  • Maintain and improve CSI scores (Customer Satisfaction Index) Technical
  • Ensure all assets are maintained according to company standards
  • Identify staff training requirements to promote staff development and technical and service standards Safety & Training
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained
  • Manage occupational health & safety standards & processes
  • Contribute on safety related issues in all aspects of the business
  • Ensure that any user of any piece of equipment has the appropriate skills, training, and licensing
  • Ensure all safety bulletins on equipment are carried out, documented, and stored as per manufacturer specification
  • Ensure all company assets are safe for use according to manufacturer specifications and OSHACT
Leadership and Management
  • Ensure that employees have clear and understood work/role descriptions, targets and goals to perform their functions, and that client needs, and requirements are integrated into all work-related practices
  • Ensure that employees have the right resources, skills, tools, equipment, and information to successfully execute on their responsibilities
  • Effectively manage employee performance and create opportunities for them to gain the competence for the work required and to grow
  • Manage staff in accordance with agreed key performance indicators
  • Project manage branch and site set up as and when required in Mozambique and other countries on a project support basis
  • Minimum: Grade 12
  • Appropriate Tertiary Technical Qualification
  • 5 years Operational management experience required.
  • 5 years’ Experience in Logistics and technical environments
  • Equipment, truck, and vehicle fleet management experience is critical
  • 3 years’ Experience in managing a staff complement of not less than 20 people
  • Rental industry experience would be an advantage
  • Experience in Budgets and planning – responsible for building, implementing, and controlling annual hub budgets
  • Experience in an ISO and H&S environment
  • Willing to travel locally and internationally
  • Knowledge: Customer Service; Rental Industry; Financial Management; Quality Management; Fleet Management; Knowledge of work at height machinery and equipment; Logistics Management; Microsoft Office; Operational management; Technical/Mechanical; People Management; Systems/IT and OSHAS
