Adra Mozambique is recruiting a M&E Coordinator (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • The Adventist Development and Relief Agency is a global humanitarian organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that demonstrates God’s love and compassion. ADRA works with people in poverty and distress to in areas of Health and Nutrition, Wash, Agriculture and Livelihood, Disaster Relief, Advocacy and Environment to create just and positive change through empowering partnerships and responsible action. ADRA Mozambique is looking for a suitably qualified person for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator who will act as a daily maintainer of ADRA Mozambique’s programmatic information, information regarding the impacts of project and program activities, as well as the consolidation of monitoring and evaluation information of different projects
Duties
  • Provide technical leadership and supervision of a strong monitoring system and processes throughout the project cycles from the design, implementation to close-out and learning
  • Develop a Monitoring and Evaluation framework, plans, tools/instruments and databases, which comply with the organization's standards
  • Participate in programme design and proposal development, including theory of change development, log frame design and budgeting for M&E
  • Develop and implement unit and community monitoring plans
  • Work with project team members and the partner organization to ensure that data is collected, processed, analyzed and presented to stakeholders
  • Support the implementation, dissemination and use of evaluations, assessments and monitoring data in programme development, adjustment, or review
  • Ensure documentation systems are in place and utilized for safeguarding documents on physical and digital archives and maintain confidentiality of the data
  • Ensuring quality and meeting deadlines in the preparation of Monitoring and Evaluation reports
  • Document and disseminate project results and best practices
  • Prepare and manage a program knowledge management system
  • Ensure capacity building through regular training of staff and partners
  • Support advocacy and other program components with relevant evidence
  • Support the project managers and the country director in preparing evaluations and processing lessons learned
Requisites
  • Degree in Economics, Management, Statistics, Social Sciences, Public Health or other related areas, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of social assistance programs, humanitarian aid, public health or other relevant areas Experience in community and household data collection processes
  • Knowledge of major quantitative & qualitative monitoring methodologies and proven ability to design monitoring instrumentation tools
  • Experience in the application of results-based management tools
  • Experience working with national data sources, including government statistical sources, data management information systems; Experience in the use of technology for data collection (mobile phones/tablets and GPS)
  • Proven understanding of programming concepts and Human Rights approaches to Development; Ability to work with tables, spreadsheets, databases and statistical software (MS Excel, MS Access, Epi Info and SPSS, KOBO)
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese
  • Good reporting, planning and management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills
