FHI360 is recruiting a MCH Specialist, to be based in Maputo.
Duties
- Lead and provide technical thought leadership to develop strategies for MCH and related initiatives working closely with the team
 
- Ensure program strategies and interventions especially target pregnant and lactating women and children under five years
 
- Participate in field assessment/design missions, program reviews/evaluations and capacity building and training initiatives to ensure high level quality of program implementation
 
- Provide technical assistance and capacity strengthening for Project team, partners and key stakeholders identified
 
- Provide evidence-based advice and recommendations on MCH procedures, guidelines, tools and standards
 
- Work closely with provincial teams and other technical counterparts to ensure synergistic and comprehensive programming
 
- Identify successful practices in the project that can be showcased in publications, communication materials and conferences
 
Requisites
- Experience and demonstrated results in MCH programming
 
- Knowledge of and experience with the design, management and implementation of MCH interventions in nutrition, agriculture and livelihood programs
 
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the socio-economic and political situation in Mozambique and gender sensitive programming
 
- Ability to organize systems to monitor results
 
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
 
- Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors, consultants, and recipients of assistance
 
- Ability to travel as needed
 
- A Master\'s Degree or higher in the relevant subject area(s), preferably in Social Work, Public Health, International development, or Community Development, is required
 
- A Proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision-making and interpersonal skills
 
- Demonstrated ability in project design, implementation and M&E
 
- Effective English oral and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally in both
 
- English and Portuguese is required
 
- Ability to navigate politically sensitive terrain and maintain constructive relationships with a diverse set of key stakeholders
 
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and transmit his/her vision to partners and colleagues
