Maintenance Technician

Denys is recruiting a Maintenance Technician, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties

• Repair and maintenance of excavators, construction cranes, bulldozers, construction elevators, compressors, (Caterpillar, Hitachi, Atlas Copco)
• Detect and Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems (faults diagnosis) determine how to correct them quickly, efficiently and safely at our customers and rental feet
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently
• Manage Maintenance personnel and subcontractors
• Inspect, operate or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
• Align and balance new equipment after installation
• Perform routine maintenance on boilers, such as replacing burners or hoses, installing replacement parts, or reinforcing structural weaknesses to ensure optimal boiler efficiency
• Perform general cleaning of equipment or properties

Requisites

• Good management and supervisory skills
• Technical competence
• Strong numeracy and IT skills
• Excellent communication and team working skills
• Attention to detail, combined with the ability to oversee large projects
• A creative approach to problem-solving
• Technical degree in mechanics, electro-mechanics and minimum 5 years of experience
• An extensive technical knowledge
• Project management and supervision skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• BS/MA in maintenance
• Degree in Maintenance Technician or other related field is required
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible, professional-level experience in maintenance, budgeting or closely related work experience
• Good level in Portuguese and English (good working knowledge, reading/speaking/writing is required
• Experience in an international company is an asset
