Logistics Superintendent

Global Edge is recruiting a Logistics Superintendent, to be based in Pemba.

Duties

• Oversee all Logistics activities and ensuring the most efficient modal of transport for the shipment of material is selected and expedited in a timely manner
• Provides management oversight of the transport department, ensuring standards are maintained for drivers and vehicle maintenance
• Provide logistic service to all company user departments
• Oversee General Logistics support to all projects in Mozambique including
• Ensure tasks are carried out in a Safe and environmentally friendly manner in accordance with the policies
• Ensure appropriate resources are sourced so that project goals can be achieved in appropriate time frame
• Assist Human Resources department in recruitment of staff, establishing training programs, and reviewing annual staff performance
• Conduct and/or participate in safety exercises, drills as directed (Policy, Manager, Incident etc)
• Ensure supervision understands risk mitigation
• Conduct inspections

Requisites

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Management, HSE or Logistics are desirable but not an absolute requirement
• 15+ years work experience in International Oilfield or Mining Logistics Role including 10+ years Supervisory experience
• Experience in People management
• Experience in Contractor Management
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Experience with a computerized work order system a plus
• Drivers licence and 5 years+ driving experience
• Communication and critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Solid experience in the offshore industry, logistics, ships agency or EPIC developments preferable
• Remote Operations Experience
• Decision-making, multi-tasking ability, planning and organizing, leadership and maturity
• Team work, adaptability to diverse tasks, stress tolerance
• Ability and willingness to travel and live in sometimes rural environments
• Fluent in English – Speaking, Reading and Writing
• Portuguese Language skills is a distinct advantage
