GAIN is recruiting a HR Officer (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a dynamic, people focused Human Resource professional to support the development of our team in Mozambique as HR Officer. This role will be based out of the GAIN office in Maputo
Duties
  • Reporting to the Deputy Country Director, as HR Officer you will play a key role in supporting staff and managers in all aspects of GAIN people policies and Mozambique labour law. In addition to ensuring compliance, you will also use your excellent people skills to advise, guide and develop the entire team to achieve success. Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide bespoke advice and support to our managers and team members on people related matters, working closely with the global HR team
  • Work closely with the global HR team to source talent in country
  • Support all staff to get the best from annual/midyear appraisals
  • Assist in planning and organizing staff development and training activities for all staff in Mozambique, in close collaboration with the global HR team
  • Responsible for all HR and Admin related communication to the office, under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director
  • Maintain, update and safeguard all employee records and data
  • Responsible for collating and verifying employee information for payroll administration
Requisites
  • You must be a self-starter with proven experience of working in a similar role, preferably with an NGO or international organization
  • You'll be an effective communicator and be able to use this skill to develop positive relationships to motivate the team. In addition, you will have a sound understanding of Mozambican labour law and be able to confidently apply HR management practices for the benefit of staff and management
  • You must be confident and fully conversant in business English, both written and verbal, as well as Portuguese
