PSI is recruiting a Head of Marketing, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • PSI seeks to employ Head of Marketing that will help us execute to strategy focusing on generating profitable and or sustainable growth of the business. This is a function of the business that is tasked with evaluating customer/consumer needs, gaining deeper insights while keeping view of the evolving market dynamics & using all these insights to derive executable strategies that will drive the business to meet its objectives, while providing direction to teams in execution! Collaboration with Sales function for buy-in through communicating clear expectations & fostering commitment is essential for success in this position! The incumbent is expected to plan, direct and control marketing including digital activities in the overall country, including the setting of marketing to achieve pre- determined profit targets. The incumbent will lead an experienced team of sales & marketing analyst, brand managers and digital marketing focused on consumers, customers and expert/ KOL (HCPs/Pharmacists)
Duties
Revenue & Budget Responsibility
  • Responsible for developing & managing overall marketing objectives for the country
  • Works in close association with commercial teams to deliver local revenue targets
  • Manages the marketing/product team budgets. Ongoing monitoring of all expenses
  • Set regional pricing & discount guidelines based on input of the business and the competitive environment
  • Ensures delivery within role and ensures team works within OpEx guidelines
  • To maintain the total expense/sales ratio within agreed budget
  • Drive a dynamic recruitment and selection and people development.
  • ROI analysis of marketing activities
Strategy Development & Execution
  • Responsible for collaborating with Sales function on the adaption of Global/ Regional campaigns where appropriate and programs for local execution to establish strong customer/consumer and category positions
  • Manages multiple product portfolio, expand business, define new markets & lead new business development efforts & develops appropriate market strategies
  • Oversees all industry and customer events where PSI is participating
  • Responsible for channel execution planning in close collaboration with Sales function
  • Oversees the Internal local campaign set-up and communication to sales and other stakeholders
  • Takes the lead on carving strategies & tactics for new product introduction/ launch execution and deployment plan, including country level PR, local digital content and local activities to support launch, in close collaboration with Sales
  • Develops and implements local sales and competitive response campaigns and programs
  • Provides consultancy, advice and assistance on strategy for commercialization of products, and influence Sales team on decision making on Sales Force resource allocation in most optimal ways, through delivery of proven analytics based projects
  • Makes recommendations based on market data analysis & market trends
  • Ensures that resources are used in an optimal manner and that they are effectively deployed across the required portfolios/product mix that generate a good return on budget
  • Facilitate strong interaction with the customer/market place, key dynamics and policies in addition to an up-to-date knowledge of key competitors and their likely strategies
  • Position and maintain PSI as the best customer service orientated company in its sector/industry (customer service & corporate image)
  • Lead digital strategy, setting digital council, establishing clear governance to evaluate performance on digital/social optimized by channel, consumer
  • Lead digital capability building with team including the following: digital research into consumer/HCP behaviors, managing website and social assets performance and guiding on content, eCRM, social media, mobile/portable, digital innovation, etc.
  • Establish a PSI distributor strategy across the region
Driving Commercial Excellence
  • Ensures team cohesion & drives delivery of efficient and high-quality deliverables to support the Sales organization
  • Leads & provides guidance to an efficient and high-quality team & promotes synergy and best practice sharing among resources, drives active cross-functional collaboration to ensure success of all marketing / commercial projects & launch excellence
  • Forecasting: To achieve the agreed customer service level by providing accurate product demand forecasts. Ensure that all forecasting assumptions are appropriately documented
  • Introduction of new products: To successfully launch all new products. Execute the launch plan
  • Pricing: To have a pricing strategy which combines maximum sales with optimal contribution
  • Managing high standards of communication and delivering best in class services.
  • Provide supervision through field visits, observations and measurement of results to include campaign evaluation, key opinion leaders feedback and field intelligence reports
  • Takes initiative to drive standardization of reporting across the various portfolios & oversees marketing and digital excellence across the broader business
  • Provides guidance on training requirements in relation to commercial processes
  • Actively involved in management of business reviews
  • IQVIA TPM Market and Marketing Intelligence & Competitor Insights
  • Relevant contracts managements
  • Providing BD&L support
  • Digital governance while ensuring alignment across Regional and Global processes as well as overseeing and adhering to PSI Ethics & Compliance principles
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of cross-functional activities between marketing, commercial excellence, sales and global support functions within PSI
  • Ensure high level of corporate governance and compliance: code of marketing practice, code of business conduct & HSE compliance beyond area of responsibility
Requisites
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Sales/Marketing/Business Administration or related discipline, or the equivalent education and experience are required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Marketing Management position with demonstrable line management experience, to be able to provide coaching to experienced product managers
  • Proven experience within Pharmaceutical Industry (Private & Public Sector) is a key advantage
  • Proven experience within distributor model (DX & AX model) is critical in this position
  • Proven experience in dealing with public sector tenders is crucial
  • Proven experience healthcare professional in multi-channel marketing
  • Minimum 7 years within marketing environment, strong exposure to market research and business analytics
  • Experience and knowledge of data warehousing and management. Good grasp & knowledge of IQVIA/IMS/ImpactRx and other data sources, QlikView is beneficial
  • Strong communication & influencing skills across different levels of the organization, as well as analytical, campaign development and planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to translate marketing strategies into tactical plans and leading teams in executing those plans
  • Proven multi country management as well as launch experience Must be proficient in written and spoken English & other local language capabilities
