Foreman

Capital Outsourcing is hiring a Foreman for Maputo.

Duties

• Provide leadership and is responsible for, although not limited to: supervising; ensuring the safety of crew members and ensuring the productivity of crew members
• Provide leadership that results in a safe work culture, is responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under his/her direction, and must understand and accept the importance and legal liability of the role
• Coordinates the crew, is supportive and involved in any day to day disciplinary decisions
• Keeping and managing production records
• Complexity to supervise
• Improve equipment/machine availability and reliability
• Control critical spares related to the critical equipment/machines on the mine/site. Improve and maintain the planned maintenance system
• Maintain proper IR practices and discipline in your area of responsibility
• Maintain proper budget control
• Manage all overtime to comply with legislation
• Consult with suppliers who supplies equipment/machinery/spares etc to the specific site
• Ensure ongoing improvement in safety ,housekeeping, labour control, cost control, stock/spares control, discipline and quality of workmen
• Accountable for the preparation of reports as required by the employer

Requisites

• Degree in Management / Engineering preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position
• Fluent in English and Portuguese
• Must be able to read drawings
• Organized with management skills
• Excellent PC skills to, amongst other items, prepare MS Project Schedules, MS Excel Spreadsheets and MS Word
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good team building/working skills
• Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and to self prioritize
• Able to follow detailed instructions
• Capable of dealing with high stress levels resulting from continual deadlines
