US Embassy is recruiting a Financial Management Specialist, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties
  • The incumbent provides full financial services to the U.S. Embassy in Maputo and is responsible for implementing, coordinating and managing a full range of financial services of various degrees which include budget formulation and execution, financial planning and reporting, allotment accounting and cashiering for all State allotments and serviced agencies Also provides day-to-day supervision and monitors progress directly to the Accounting Chief, the Vouchering Chief, the Administrative Assistant and the Class B Cashier and indirectly to three Accountants and four Voucher Examiners Approves daily petty cash requests, certifies Non-Cashier vendors vouchers, Purchase Orders and Cashier transactions (payments, collections, accommodation exchange, deposits)

Requisites
  • Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in Technical Accounting, Vouchering, Budgeting, Cashiering and Bookkeeping at an International Organization
  • At least three years of supervisory experience is also required
  • Level IV English is required
  • Level IV Portuguese is required
