Environmental Technician

Heading is hiring an Environmental Technician for various locations in the North of Mozambique.

Duties

• Review and approve contractors Environmental Management Plan
• Investigate to identify the root causes of all non conformances, incident and near misses and ensure continuous follow-up in order to immediately correct unsafe acts and conditions
• Report on environmental performance and statistical process controls as directed by the HSE-Environmental Manager
• Monitor all factors likely to improve environmental management are taken into consideration such as Environmental Job Specific Hazard Assessments by Contractors
• Undertake day to day activities required to ensure that the compane environmental policies and procedures- especially the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) - is monitored and implemented
• Assist contractors in investigating and resolving environmental complaints, incidents and non-conformances
• Provide accurate and timely input into management reports (weekly and monthly)
• Ensure that all environmental monitoring programs (sampling, measuring, recording, air and water quality control monitoring, environmental expenditures tracking etc when specified) are carried out according to CDN requirements

Requisites

• More than 2 years’ experience in implementation of Project Environmental Management Plan and Environmental Management System
• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering and/or Management
• Proficiency in English, spoken and written
• Driver´s License (for more than 2 years)
