Electrical Engineer

US Embassy is recruiting a Electrical Engineer, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

Duties

• The incumbent will serve as the electrical engineer/inspector for the New Embassy Compound project
  responsible for overseeing electrical and telecommunications elements of the project
• Relevant electrical engineering fields to this position include power generation, power distribution, power monitoring, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, telecommunications
  networks, building automation systems (monitoring and controls), and Technical Security Systems installations
• The Electrical Engineer shall be directly responsible to the OBO Project Director (PD) in the performance of his duties under this contract. The Electrical Engineer will inspect construction
• Review plans
• Recommend approval of shop drawings and submittals
• Maintain a daily log of construction activities
• Develop change orders including preparing cost estimates; and other construction engineering duties related to the construction of the new Maputo Embassy (NEC) as directed by the OBO PD
• The Electrical Engineer shall be capable of working independently and shall provide professional engineering services

Requisites

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering from an accredited institution and five years of experience in Electrical Engineering relevant to the position is required
• Two years of college experience in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution and seven years of experience in Electrical Engineering relevant to the position is required
• Level IV English (fluency in both written and verbal) is required. Will be tested
• Level III Portuguese (fluency in both written and verbal) is required. Will be tested
• Valid Driver’s License is required
