Digital Transmitter Engineer

MultiChoic is recruiting a Digital Transmitter Engineer, to be based in Maputo.

Duties

• Ensure world-class service levels for all terrestrial broadcast networks
• Conduct site inspection and implement remedial solutions
• Compile maintenance, commissioning and other related reports
• Adopt best practices in technical operations
• Telemetry configuration and management (event and fault logging)
• Streamlined processes, operational efficiency and cost effective delivery
• Establish and maintain recovery processes
• 24hr standby duties
• Establish and maintain effective logistics procedure that includes shipment of faulty equipment’s within and outside the country
• Repair of all electrical and electronic models to component level
• Ensure effective implementation of new firmware/software/hardware on various broadcast equipment/systems/platforms
• TVRO maintenance, installation and commissioning
• VSAT maintenance, installation and commissioning
• Interference measurement and analysis
• Assist with implementation of relevant projects
• Supervising of all in country contractors
• Best practices for monitoring and control of broadcast equipment/systems/ network via remote telemetry system

Requisites

• High level of relevant technology operations knowledge
• Best practices for Terrestrial operations of broadcast equipment/ systems/ networks and Satellite systems
• In depth knowledge of DVB-H, DVB-T standards and digital modulation schemes
• Sound SFN knowledge
• Computer literacy including basic knowledge for IT Networking
• Knowledge of radio frequency (RF), including measurements, and able to use relevant RF test equipment
• Basic knowledge of project management
• Basic financial knowledge
• Pay TV Industry
• Report writing skills
• Psychomotor skills/capacity: handling of components, soldering, mechanical repair and installation
• Fluent in both English and Portuguese language (read and write)
• Regulatory Knowledge
• B.Tech / National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (light current) or in Telecommunication or Electronics with minimum of 5 years applicable broadcast experienc
• Registration with Engineering Body is highly recommended
• Driver’s license – Code: BE (To be able to drive 4x4 vehicle and towing trailers)
