CONTACT is recruiting a Contract Engineer – RSI, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
- Reporting to the C&P Manager and the SNR Contract Engineers (Renewable and Sustainable Industrial project), the main activities of the Contract Engineer - Renewable and Sustainable Industrial (RSI) are to work closely with the RSI DUET to create the contracts dossier, develop a clear definition of contractual responsibilities and discuss the agenda
- Development of contracting strategy and issue call for tenders to find suitable expertise to support the different functions; negotiation and analysis of commercial bids; development of recommendations to award (RTA); ensure that all insurance issues of TEPMA1 assets and personnel are dealt with
- Manage his/her performance by monitoring KPIs Ensure the update of the contract management tool; keep informed of best practices in contracts procedures in other entities for improvement of contracts practices in TEPMA1
- Use existing frame agreements; prepare and maintain an up-to-date list of qualified contractors/suppliers/potential tenders/contracts with updated information in order to perform market studies
- Analyse and assess all possible answers from the market; development of contracting strategy and issue call for complex tenders to find suitable expertise to support the different functions; leading the presentation of RTA to the contracts committee or the appropriate DOA approver with a common recommendation with DUET; establish the technical contracts and contractual agreements, directly participate to the most complex contracts
- Conduct the commercial bid analysis and negotiation thereby creating a clear definition of responsibilities and documents together with the DUET; take the leading role in recommendation to award (RTA) through contracts committee/DOA with common recommendation with DUET; ensure the handover of contracts to the partners’ entities and monitor contractor’s performance with Duet
- Assist C&P management in the settlement of claims and lawsuits, in relation with the legal, insurance, finance and TEPMA1 management by proposing strategies and actions and participating to the negotiations; ensure monitoring on-going contracts status, participate in contract renewal and amendments discussions
Requisites
- Master's degree in a relevant area for the position
- At least 6 to 7 years of professional experience (with a minimum 2 years in technical contracts domain) with exposure on operations
- Personal abilities such as Advanced Management, Advanced Human Relations, Problem Solving and Planning/organizing/coordinating/controlling
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Understanding of core operational activities and capability to handle different cross branch issues
