  • Project Summary: MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics is a new USAID funded program initiated in September 2020 and active through September 2025. Through a consortium of partners led by EngenderHealth, this project expands awareness of, equitable access to, and appropriate use of quality, voluntary surgical maternal health (MH) and family planning (FP) services that are essential to reducing maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity and promoting reproductive health (RH). MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics focuses on surgical obstetric care, including safe and indicated cesarean delivery (CD) and peripartum hysterectomy; prevention and treatment of obstetric and iatrogenic fistula; and voluntary long-acting reversible contraceptives and permanent methods (LARCs/PMs)
  • Job Summary: Based in Niassa Province, the M&E Consultant will be responsible for monitoring and collection of data for internal reporting from project activities, entering data into project reporting platforms, and working with the Technical Specialist Provincial Coordinator and the MERL Specialist to prepare project reporting. The M&E Consultant will work under the supervision of the Technical Specialist Provincial Coordinator. The M&E Consultant will be responsible for two Districts in Niassa province

  • Period: Seven (7) months

  • Reports To (Title Only): Provincial Coordinator and Technical Specialist
Duties
  • Collaborate with project staff, ensure data integrity, clean data, and follow-up with project partners on any data requiring clarification
  • Establish and retain a record of project activities, tasks and milestones and assist project staff with preparation and follow-up of reports on project activities and preparation of annual workplans
  • Assist in the coordination of special studies and/or surveys as required
  • Draft, with input from Technical Specialist Provincial Coordinator, routine monthly and quarterly reporting, as well as special reports on project initiatives
  • Provide training and facilitation for partner and facility staff on project indicators and data collection processes, data quality, as well as the use of data for decision making
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requisites
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized higher institution in relevant discipline (public health, statistics, data management, Psychology etc.)
  • 2 years monitoring and evaluation/data management/data quality assurance experience
  • Experience with data/information software such as DHIS2, MS Excel, Power BI, Kobo Toolbox, etc.
  • Experience with MoH information database such as SISMA
  • Ability to collect data; expertise in compilation; analysis of data and writing report
  • Computer skills - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good knowledge of quality improvement and quality assurance of health services
  • Positive attitude and flexible approach to working; able to re-organize tasks as appropriate in response to changing demands
