JSI is recruiting a Consultant, Community Health Systems Catalog, to be based in Several Places, Mozambique.

Duties
  • Advancing Partners & Communities (APC) is a 5-year USAID-funded project implemented by JSI Research and Training Institute (JSI) and partner FHI 360. The project advances and supports community programs that seek to improve the overall health of communities, especially in relationship to family planning. The project will advance global learning in community-based programming, execute and manage small and medium-sized sub-awards, support procurement reform by building organizational and technical capacity of organizations, provide Missions oversight and management services of awards to local organizations, and prepare awards for execution by USAID
  • The purpose of this activity is to update the existing Mozambique Country Landscape for the APC project, which will focus on the overall community-based health system from a national policy perspective. The resource will be included in a globally accessible, online catalog that provides basic information on a country's: community health system; the services delivered at the community level; the community health workforce; and specific details on community-based family planning, nutrition and maternal and child health services
  • The consultant will lead the development of the updated Mozambique Country Landscape, using the provided online assessment tool, based on the existing community health system in Mozambique. The analysis will display the major national-level programs and other essential programs that supplement and/or support the community health system. The consultant will contact the Ministry of Health and/or NGO staff as necessary to complete the task. The consultant will be available to answer questions for APC staff once the first draft is complete
  • Complete the updated Mozambique Country Landscape
  • Collect copies of relevant community health policies
  • Answer follow-up questions and participate in conference calls as necessary
  • End Product/deliverable
  • Mozambique Country Landscape, including supporting references and policies (as available)
  • Time frame: 6-8 days
Requisites
  • Knowledge of Mozambique’s community health system, overall health system, key NGOs and partners, and family planning
  • Familiarity with USAID and JSI
