Chemonics seeks a Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID-funded Mozambique AgriFUTURO project, based in Maputo.
Duties
- Serving as the project's principal liaison with USAID, the government of Mozambique, and stakeholders and counterparts in the public and private sectors
- Providing overall program direction, including oversight of annual work planning
- Managing and supervising the project's technical and administrative staff
- Ensuring quality and timeliness of all project deliverables
Requisites
- Master's degree in business administration, agriculture, economics, or a relevant field
- Minimum seven years of experience managing complex agricultural development programs in sub-Saharan Africa
- Chief of party or other senior management experience, such as deputy chief of party or director of a major project component
- Proven record in building the capacity of local private sector and improving government policy on agricultural development
- Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including local governments, USAID, and international donors
- Strong oral communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility
- Fluency in English and Portuguese required
