CEDES is recruiting a for Audit Services, to be based in Corrane, Nhamatanda, and Buzi, Mozambique.
Description
- CEDES invites qualified audit firms to submit proposals to conduct project specific audit of a programme implemented by DKH Mozambique and CEDES in Corrane, Nhamatanda, and Buzi districts of Mozambique. The project implementation period is from 1 March 2026 to 29 February 2028 and is funded by the Austrian Development Agency and Diakonie Austria
Duties
- Prepare the financial statements based on the accounting records provided
- Express an opinion whether the financial statement(s) for the project(s) under consideration give a true and fair view of the assets, the financial position and the results of operations of the audited project
In arriving at their opinion, they are required to consider the following matters and to report on them accordingly:
- Examination of the correct accounting on the basis of original documents (including contracts, reports on the
services provided, invoices, auxiliary materials)
- Audition of the overall financial management and verification of the compliance with the applicable provisions of labour law and social security law as well as of proper application of the applicable procurement provisions
- Examination of the expenditures and income, any duplication of funding and the overall financial management of the programme
- To examine the tools and procedures of internal control for the project
- Whether funds from Austrian Development Agency and Diakonie Austria were utilized in compliance with the
purpose of the project
- Whether the auditors have obtained all the information and explanations which they consider necessary for the
purpose of their audit
Requisites
- Requirements at end of the assignment:
- Auditor’s report/opinion including a compliance statement in respect to the areas mentioned in the TOR
- Audited financial statement (balance sheet, income and expenditure account of the project holder, if relevant in the given context of the project) (receipt and payment account/cash flow statement of the project including opening and closing balances of earmarked funds and a plan-actual comparison/variance report with the approved budget)
- Management Letter
- Notes to the accounts (if relevant in the given context of the project)
- List of income/receipts according to origin/source
- Foreign currency transactions (incl. examination of exchange transactions)
- List of all bank accounts and their balances
- List of payable invoices, if any
- List of receivables invoices, if any
