Aldelia is recruiting a Terminal Manager (m/f), to be based in Nacala, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Responsible for leading a team and driving “best in class” logistics performance to ensure an efficient, safe, cost effective and customer focused logistics operation that is in compliance with company practice and standards
  • Acts as the focal point for all interested bodies (internal and external) and is accountable for the 24/7 safe and efficient operation of plant, product receipt, storage and handling and equipment at the depot
  • Ensures that bulk fuel and additive receipt (whatever mode: ship, pipeline, rail or road) and storage at the depot/terminal are carried out according to requirements of terminal operating manual and that all critical task procedures are consistently adhered to
  • Ensures optimum performance and seeks improvements to create competitive advantage in terms of customer service, safety, depot security, asset utilization and costs within agreed budgets
  • Maintains a constant and critical appraisal of all logistics activities and costs within the depot by directing the team to manage all achievable resources so that company products are stored, handled and distributed to the agreed standards at optimum cost
  • Champions HSSE as a personal value to ensure HSSE is promoted in terms of both actions and decisions and to prevent accidents and harm to people or the environment
  • Manage and supervise the depot operations, the installations and the depot personnel and contractors. Ensures controls of activities by third parties in the depot
  • Leads, motivates and coaches the depot team to deliver outstanding performance on operations, HSSE, customer satisfaction, and people management
  • Assist to develop the business and budget plan for the depot and reports regularly on the performance towards the business and budget plan
  • Ensure to keep the updated construction and operational records of the site e.g. drawings, maintenance details, records of modifications or excursions of plant outside of design operating conditions
  • Perform regular inspections to assess the condition of the depot
  • Elaborate and manage the global action plan of the depot with regards to the implementation of corrective, preventive and mitigation measures in all activity fields related to the depot
  • Ensures that Hazards are identified and translated into Risks using the approved methodology
  • Spends a considerable amount of time building and maintaining good relationships with the Clients, Stakeholders and other oil companies, regarding the depot operations
  • Represents the depot in dealings with authorities and local government and community groups
  • Maintains strict quality and quantity controls on stocks including losses/gains for all grades and continually monitors the stock ownership position. Ensure all periodic stock reports and depot operations reports are prepared, verified, validated and transmitted D+1 according to the guidelines and procedures
  • Apply the quality control procedures of the fuels handled by the terminal during the different stages of receiving, storing and handling of the fuels according to the operations agreement, the clients contracts, the company procedures and the fuel specifications
  • Supervise that all terminal assets are inspected and maintained under a maintenance programme established in alignment with the recommended maintenance practices and standards for oil terminals
Requisites
  • Degree in Logistics, Mechanical/Chemical engineering or a related technical/business field is advantageous
  • Logistics operational experience, preference 3 years of which should have been spent at management level and in Oil&Gas field
  • Extensive knowledge of terminal procedures, supply and logistics and knowledge of other Operating Performance Unit (OPU) strategies and plans, particularly markets
  • Ability to work with diverse teams including senior management and third party negotiations
  • Fluent/Advanced in English and Portuguese
