Technical Supervisor (m/f)

Aldelia is recruiting a Technical Supervisor (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Ensure adherence to safety and discipline
  • Supervise and assist technicians in carrying out maintenance repairs, fault finding and monitoring of equipment
  • Provide on the job assistance and guidance to technicians
  • Ensure maximum operational availability of equipment by supervising and assisting with diagnostics and specifying repair methods to be carried out by a group of skilled technicians
  • Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports when deemed necessary
  • Carry out duties independently upon call out and allocate jobs to technicians and report breakdowns and faults
  • Ensure that emergency work is followed up by reporting to the Superintendent
  • Ensure that all preventive maintenance is conducted as defined in the system
  • Ensure that technicians complete documentation and paperwork (filling details in hardcopies of work order) for repair and maintenance work. Details about start time, end time and maintenance and repair activity needs to be filled by technician on hard copy of the work order
  • Ensure accurate, up to date information is provided in the work order for input into the system
  • Ensure that work order is generated (in coordination with planning clerk) for all work performed by technicians
  • Ensure that start time and end time is recorded in the system: Measure deviations and ascertain reasons for the same
  • Track cost of each maintenance activity by recording in the system in work order: No of technicians
  • Spare parts used/replaced, etc.; Time taken
  • Encourage the concept of corrective maintenance amongst technicians and operators
  • Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is responsible
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable working condition in accordance with planned maintenance
  • Provide regular process control checks and initiate and support performance improvement activities
Requisites
  • Education Diploma/Higher Diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering, Preferable Graduate/Bachelors in mechanical/electrical engineering
  • Experience in container in sea port and/or heavy equipment environment Preferably 3 to 5 years
  • Experience in supervisory role Preferable 1 to 2 years
  • Experience in working on heavy equipment in ports, mining, steel industries
  • Language Fluency in Portuguese and English
  • Skills required knowledge of a wide range of mechanical equipment, diesel engines, transmissions, pneumatic hydraulic systems, brakes/should have sound knowledge of PLC, AC/DC drives, motors, Electrical drawing Conversant with technical/parts manuals, and drawings Fully conversant with safety procedures Holder of local driver license
  • Knowledge about safety norms and procedures
