Tax Officer

Twigg Exploration & Mining, LDA is recruiting a Tax Officer, to be based in Pemba/Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.

Duties

• Researching, analysing and interpreting changing taxation legislation in Mozambique
• Ensure the company is working within taxation laws
• Liaising and assisting in negotiations with appropriate provincial government departments on behalf of the company on any tax related matters
• Identify and recommend taxation strategies for the company
• Develop a maintain a taxation risk register
• Carrying out detailed computations to calculate taxation liability
• Advise on taxation efficient employee schemes when required
• Calculate taxation liability, ensuring compliance is completed speedily and efficiently
• Submit all related taxation returns

Requisites

• Tertiary level education in Commerce, Finance and Accountancy
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working within corporate Mozambican taxation system
• Mining industry experience beneficial with proven exposure to finance management systems and processes
• High level of communication skills in both Portuguese and English
• Computer literate
