Senior Technician

Heading is hiring a Senior Technician to be based in various locations in Mozambique.

Duties

• Ensure that Contractors work to Contract expectations
• Maintain and promote good working relationships and sharing of information within the team
• Assists the supervisors by performing such duties as instructing, answering questions, distributing and balancing the workload and checking work; may make suggestions on selections and reassignments and provides training to employees and reviews the work of lower level Technicians for accuracy and adequacy and advises accordingly
• Oversee the surveying of large construction railway projects including right-of-way, grade stakes, slope stakes, vertical and horizontal alignment for bridge culverts, among other structures; ensure plan and specifications are adhered to
• Perform mathematical calculations in the field and calculate quantities, slope stakes, paving grades
• Oversee the inspection of large construction railway projects, ensuring the work is completed according to specification which includes sampling and testing materials to be used, ensuring proper certification of materials, coordinating and reviewing the activities of inspectors, maintaining records, preparing authorization for project progress reports, and informing supervisor of problems
• Perform technical duties, such as analysing project reports and provide assistance to the Line Manager
• Duties and responsibilities may vary as per Line Manager Instructions

Requisites

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant areas
• Over 10 years of experience (Bridges, Earthworks and Roads)
• Driver´s License (for more than 2 years)
