Mashova is recruiting a Safety Officer, to be based in Nacala.
Duties
- Setup & Implement HSE standards on site in accordance with the mining & ports regulations of Mozambique.
Align with company standards 
- Enforce HSE compliance on site for all employees
 
- Audit & assist with Risk assessments & safe work procedures
 
- Liaise with team leaders regarding safety
 
- Promote a culture in which safety is the prime concern
 
- Promote the involvement of all employees in improving safety
 
- Coordinate the implementation of the site safety management plans
 
- Reporting of OH&S matters and performance to the Project Management Team
 
- Liaise with Client Line and Safety management to ensure full understanding and communication of all safety issues impacting on the Client from Project Management activities and vice versa
 
- Facilitate reviews by these Rules
 
- Coordinate the preparation of Accident & Emergency Response Plans
 
- Coordinate and participate in drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of Accident & Emergency Response Plans
 
Requisites
- Proven qualification in HSE
 
- At least 8 to 10 years experience in safety management in Mozambique
 
- Experience with mining & ports safety laws
 
- Accident investigation experience
 
- Fluent in both Portuguese & English
 
- Knowledge of ports, plant rental and mining
 
- Computer literate on MS Office and Pastel Evolution
 
- Must be willing to reside in Mozambique
