SDO Moçambique is recruiting a Rural Financing Specialist (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • The Rural Financing Specialist shall work at UNGP, reporting directly to the Country Project Coordinator and the Rural Financing Specialist shall further be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the overall Rural Financing Services of the Rural Businesses Financing Project (PFER)
Duties
  • Provide overall support to the monitoring and implementation of aspects related to the PFER financial services
  • Engage with the Fund Manager and with the person responsible for Innovation and Awareness to ensure appropriate synergies between the inputs and outputs of financial services
  • Draft all agreements entered into with the implementing agents with the support from specialized technical assistance, as provided for in the project design report
  • Monitor the performance of several institutions or services providers that are involved in the process of PFER implementation, namely in the monthly review of financial and progress reports submitted to UNGP
  • Monitor the performance of limited liability companies established by the project
  • Participate in the provision of business and financial management training to managing bodies and management teams of limited liability companies established by the project
  • In collaboration with the ME/KM Specialist and with the financial services providers, develop knowledge management with respect to innovative financial instruments
  • Assist SDO´s Client in building the capacity for the provision of financial services to entrepreneurs, based on the project results and the innovative business models
  • Assist in the preparation of the Annual Budget and Work and in drafting progress reports
  • Perform all other relevant tasks
Requisites
  • Academic Background: At least a d high degree in Finance, Management or related fields
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in banking/microfinance and business approach to agriculture and rural development
  • Excellent writing skills, good interpersonal and relationship skills, excellent communication skills
  • Oral and written fluency in Portuguese and English
  • Experience in implementing projects funded by international organizations is considered to be an advantage

  • Work station: Maputo, with frequent travel to the three URGP and to other provinces
