Resettlement Field Manager

Contact is recruiting for his client, Anadarko, the world's largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production companies, with 2.86 billion barrels of oil equivalent (BBOE) of proved reserves at year-end 2014, a Resettlement Field Manager, to be based in Afungi.

Duties
  • Reporting to the Resettlement Process Manager, will act as team leader for the Resettlement Field Management Team (RFMT) and is responsible for ensuring effective field implementation of all resettlement activities through supervision, facilitation and support of the Compensation and Logistics Unit, the Livelihood Restoration Unit and the Stakeholder Engagement and Monitoring Unit
  • Liaise and work closely with the Maputo Resettlement Management Team
  • Act as Team Leader for the RFMT to provide oversight, support and advice to the Compensation and Logistics Unit, the Livelihood Restoration Unit, the Stakeholder Engagement and Monitoring Unit and the Data Management Unit to ensure successful implementation of resettlement activities
  • Work closely with the Livelihood Restoration Field Coordinator, Compensation and Logistics Field Coordinator, Resettlement Compliance Field Coordinator (RCC) and the Resettlement Engagement Field Coordinator, to prepare all SOW’s for contract delivery partners to implement resettlement activities
  • Submit all SOW’s for contracting of delivery partners to RMT for review and preparation of bid documents
  • In collaboration with the RCC and Resettlement Process Advisor assist with the development of the Project communication and reporting strategy
  • Review deliverables by implementation units and coordinate daily, weekly and monthly reports to report on progress, issues and concerns
  • Attend and provide input to weekly and monthly RP Progress and implementation Coordination meetings
  • Any other tasks as required by the Resettlement Process Manager
Requisites
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably with an Environmental, Social Studies or related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ team leader and field contractor management experience
  • Highly organized, motivated and committed professional
  • Effective communication skills – listening, verbal, written
  • Exemplary planning and organizational skills
  • Effective leader and resourceful pragmatic team player who can effectively prioritize and problem solve for workable solutions
  • Ability to facilitate and manage multiple teams and project units to complete their assignments under tight deadlines
  • Responsible, accountable and with an excellent work record
  • Experience with Oil and Gas projects is an advantage
  • Fluent oral and written knowledge of English is required
  • Knowledge of Portuguese or Swahili language is an advantage
