J&J Transportes is recruiting a Rebuilds Technician, to be based in Beira, Mozambique.

  • The scope of responsibilities of the Rebuilds Technician is focused on the daily management of the Rebuilds Section Shop and the rebuilding of engines, gearboxes, axles and differentials to be used within the fleet. The fleet includes: reach stackers, forklifts, company cars, rollers, motorbikes, generators, scales, weighbridge, trucks, trailers, low-beds and any other machinery and or vehicle used by J&J
Duties
  • Outline of Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide efficient and effective day to day management of the Rebuilds Section in the workshop
  • Ensure that all engine, gearbox, axle and differential rebuilds are done so in an efficient, cost effective and safe manner
  • Ensure the rebuilds are kept clean and cosmetically well maintained so the brand is professionally presented
  • Establish and maintain a strong and professional working relationship and open communication channels at all times with the Workshop Manger to communicate spares stock levels and ensure the appropriate spares and consumables are being used
  • Provide detailed information to the Workshop Manager about spares needs, in order to ensure that all spares purchased meet manufacturers and company specifications
  • Ensure all goods received from the stores are correctly documented in FMS
  • Ensure all reconditioned parts being returned to stores are correctly documented and captured in FMS
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOP) provided by the manufacturer of all machine used
  • Assist the Workshop Manager to implement procedures to increase the use of used spares to reduce costs and waste
  • Comply with all HSES regulations for all work processes in the workshop and maintain awareness levels of knowledge and understanding of all workshop employees regarding health and safety in the workplace
  • Ensure that of the Workshop employees are at their workplaces during work times and that they start work promptly especially at start of work and after the tea and lunch break
  • Take responsibility for the work area and ensure a professional working environment and cleanliness at all time
  • Ensure the appropriate usage and handling of testing tools and repair equipment
  • Manage, supervise, support and develop the workshop team, ensuring a high level of motivation, discipline and morale is maintained at all times
  • Ensure that all workshop accidents are reported to the Workshop Manager
Requisites
  • Technical Mechanic Diploma/Degree, or completed Mechanical Trade through City and Guilds or NQF
  • Minimum experience of 5 years as Mechanic technician, preferably in transport working in a medium/large workshop
  • Detail and results orientation, good interpersonal skills, high energy and drive, and exceptional technical judgment on the job
