KfW is recruiting a Project Coordinator - Decentralization and Natural Resources (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Description
  • The purpose of the position is to provide professional support to the respective Program Managers (based in Frankfurt) and the KfW Maputo Office for an effective implementation of existing and planned programmes
  • The work is focused on the areas of decentralization and natural resource management
  • The tasks may be extended to support other sectors of German Financial Cooperation with Mozambique where necessary and required. The Project Coordinator will work under the Director of the KfW Maputo Office
Duties
  • Support Project Managers in handling the decentralization and natural resources portfolios (e.g. preparation of missions in Mozambique, follow-up on contracts & disbursements, support to tender processes, monitoring project progress) and in portfolio development
  • Act as focal point for decentralization and natural resources; represent KfW at relevant meetings and events; contribute to strategy papers, appraisal and progress reports, project reviews
  • Ensure smooth cooperation and communication with Mozambican partners, development partners (including German Technical Cooperation) and the German Embassy
  • Act as focal point for all marketing & public relations issues at the KfW Maputo Office; produce regular news updates; support the preparation of workshops and events (including speech-writing)
Requisites
  • Master Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Natural Resource Management or a related subject
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar position in the field of development cooperation
  • Experience with other development institutions and/or banks is an advantage
  • Strong project management, organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Portuguese, both oral and written. German language skills are an asset
  • Readiness for extensive travelling within Mozambique (i.e. to accompany project missions) and abroad (i.e. to participate in trainings in Frankfurt)
  • MS-Office (Power Point, Excel, Word) & internet research tools
