PRI is recruiting a Procurement Manager, to be based in Cabo Delgado, Sofala, Maputo, Nampula, Tete and Inhambane, Mozambique.
Duties
- Organize, direct and implement a comprehensive purchasing policy
 
- Responsible for all purchase activities for the Technical, Operations and IT departments
 
- Ensure that proper inventory check has been followed by Stores
 
- Consult and assist departments in determining needs and developing specifications for goods or services
 
- Prepare bid specifications for goods and services, evaluate bids, and make recommendations for award of bids and contracts
 
- Prepare Purchase Order in the system and send copy to supplier and user department
 
- Maintain records of items purchased or transferred between departments
 
- Evaluate purchasing transactions and procedures; implement modifications to increase cost-effectiveness of the purchasing program
 
- Act as a primary liaison with local and overseas vendors on issues and questions concerning purchasing
 
- Take appropriate action against vendors supplying poor quality products
 
- Co-ordinate with Accounts Payable for payment of supplier on time
 
- Oversee the disposal of surplus stock by coordinating public auctions
 
- Plan and obtain approval of budget for the purchasing section
 
- Keen on selection of best quotation on basis of price, quantity availability and quality
 
Requisites
- Have a degree in Procurement, Logistics, Material control, Management Accounting or Business Administration
 
- Have a mandatory 5 to 7 experience in Purchase department, preferably in a multi national organization or port
 
- Experience in managerial role (2 to 3 years)
 
- Excellent computer operating skills
 
- Good decision making and analytical capabilities
 
- Good communication and negotiation skills
 
- Comply with good standard practices
 
- Goal and achievement oriented
 
- Proficiency in English and Portuguese
