Description
- The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Political Specialist (Stabilization Specialist (Pol/Econ)
Duties
- The Stabilization Specialist serves as a subject matter expert on political and socioeconomic issues affecting implementation of the U.S. Stabilization Strategy for northern Mozambique, which seeks to support economic development, community resilience, good governance and service delivery, and peace and security
- The Specialist tracks developments in northern Mozambique, drafts reports and delivers briefings to internal and external audiences and contributes to the design and implementation of assistance programs to support local development and resilience
- The Specialist maintains contact networks to facilitate cooperation with a variety of partners, and designs and conducts public outreach for programs related to the Stabilization Strategy
- The Specialist manages all aspects of federal assistance grants related to the Stabilization Strategy, from the pre-award, award, and post-award to closeout phases. The Specialist also supports monitoring and evaluation of existing programs
