PEPFAR Strategic Information Advisor

US Embassy is recruiting a PEPFAR Strategic Information Advisor, to be based in Maputo.

  • Provide high quality and sustained technical assistance in the development and implementation of strategic information systems to support successful implementation of the United States Government’s (USG) President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program in Mozambique. S/he will serve as the principal field counterpart to headquarters SI advisor and will act as liaison between the PEPFAR Coordination Office and the USG SI Technical Working Group
  • The SI Advisor is responsible for providing oversight to PEPFAR SI activities including monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and information systems. This individual will ensure that all M&E planning activities are coordinated in conjunction with the larger SI team, and data are reported in a timely a manner and used for decision making
  • The SI liaison will be a member of the interagency PEPFAR Coordination Office, and will be responsible for reporting on progress toward achieving PEPFAR targets, communicating strategic information to the broader team to inform PEPFAR programming, and will support both internal and external capacity for using strategic information in combating HIV/AIDS in Mozambique
  • A Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, social or behavioral sciences, or related field is required
  • Minimum five years experience managing public health or other social sector programs (of total years of experience, at least three years managing an HIV/AIDS program is required and at least two years related to monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS and/ or health programs is required)
  • Level IV (fluency – reading, writing, speaking) proficiency in written and spoken English is required
  • A minimum of Level II (good working knowledge speaking/reading) Portuguese is required
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal, facilitation and team building skills/experience. Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex processes, projects and timelines
  • Ability to make clear, convincing presentations, explain and justify recommendations. Highly level of knowledge in MS Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables, and web-based data applications
