  • Work Hours: Part-time; 20 hours/week
  • Salary: Unpaid Internship
  • Length Of Hire: February 5, 2024 – August 5, 2024 (6 months)
  • The PEPFAR Program Support Assistant intern provides critical support to the Coordinator, Deputy Coordinator, Management & Operations and Communication team on all aspects of HIV/AIDS U.S. Government assistance in Mozambique. S/he is responsible for specific administrative and operations functions of the Department of State (DOS) PEPFAR Coordination Office (PCO), especially the flow of information within the office and with external stakeholders, logistics for meetings and conferences, the office/PEPFAR calendar, and organizing and tracking numerous interagency assignments and processes
Duties
  • Provide support to PEPFAR programs (DREAMS, Community Grants) with travel arrangements
  • Provide support to Multilateral Advisor by updating internal advocacy strategy
  • Assists in drafting and editing Statement of Work (SOW) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Provides support to Outreach Specialist (Communications) in drafting and editing PEPFAR success stories and content for website
  • Manages email and written communications related to PEPFAR coordination, including leading or assisting in producing minutes/notes, written action and/or summaries for key coordination meetings
  • Maintains and coordinates PEPFAR calendar of events, routine meetings and PEPFAR team and partner contact lists and email list serves
  • Supports official communication with GRM, multilateral and other high-level communications
  • Assists with updating and cleaning contact files for external stakeholders
  • Maintains records of all communications
  • Schedules and manages communications with individuals and groups for meetings
  • Drafts and/or edits various types of correspondence
  • Provides translation of documents as needed
  • Update the website with notes, recordings, and presentations
Requisites
  • Language: English (Level 2) and Portuguese (Level 3) (Write, Speak, Listen). (This will be tested)
  • Computer: Ability to use all Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in organizational or international development, public administration, business administration, management and or communication
  • Experience: Not required
