Description
  • We are looking for a Partnerships Coordinator to be based in Oxfam’s Humanitarian Coordination office Beira, Mozambique where we are supporting the Humanitarian responses to Cyclones Idai and Kenneth. In this role you will manage, coordinate and lead in the effective design and implementation of the Partnerships Strategy which focuses on working with Oxfam’s local partners in an effective and efficient way and ensure that Oxfam is upholding its commitments to the Grand Bargain and the Charter for Change
  • You will be the focal point and the link between Oxfam’s valued local partners, the humanitarian response team and the Oxfam in Mozambique Office and you create and maintain strategic relationships that allow for teams to work in harmony
Requisites
  • We are looking for an excellent communicator with a background and relevant work experiences in working with local and national partners in resilience and humanitarian contexts, who can demonstrate willingness to learn and constantly develop professional skills. You should have great interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail and organization skills and clear understanding of humanitarian activities to better contribute in achieving success in such a large-scale humanitarian response programme. Specifically, we are looking for a person with
  • Degree in Humanitarian Assistance, Organizational Development or related degrees that can bring added value to the position; or at least 5 years work experience in working and managing partners
  • Fluent in both English and Portuguese (verbal and written)
  • Experience working with both Local and National NGOs and INGOs with a knowledge of internal systems, including finance, logistics, funding
  • Extensive experience in partner capacity development role at senior level
  • In-depth understanding of the global frames working supporting and pushing for LHL; Charter for Change, Grand Bargain and Principles of Partnership
  • Experience and understanding of humanitarian advocacy
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles and standards of programme quality in emergencies, including the Core Humanitarian Standards
  • Experience of designing and implementing gendered humanitarian interventions
  • Excellent communicator with strong written and reporting skills, and an excellent ability to influence verbally to persuade with diplomacy and tact
  • Experience in fast-paced and difficult emergency; DRR and Preparedness contexts
  • Adaptable and able to work under pressure in a demanding and fast-moving environment
  • Initiative and motivation to work independently and develop solutions to problems, particularly in flexibility with working with partners
  • Highly flexible in style with the ability to produce creative and pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
