PRI is recruiting a Operations Engineer, to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

  • Operate gas engines and generating equipment of the power plant
  • Perform technical updates and modifications on the electrical equipment
  • Diagnosis, trouble shooting and repair as and when necessary in order to ensure minimum down time of the plant
  • Carry out maintenance and fault-finding on gas engines, generating equipment and the PLC/DCS system
  • Switching of LV/MV/HV equipment as required
  • Maximise electrical production and reduce operational costs
  • Supervision of subcontractors and assistants
  • Training and mentoring of junior personnel
  • Routine plant inspections
  • Ensure the adherence of Internal Regulations and relevant legislation
  • All shift administrative duties including but not limited to filing, report writing, document compilation and revisions, and upkeep of engine data register
  • Regular communication to Head Office regarding any Operational, HR or any other relevant issues
  • Attend training sessions or meetings outside of normal working hours
  • High degree in electro-technical engineering
  • 5 years’ experience in handling High Voltage equipment
  • Programmable logic controller experience (preferably Siemens S7-1500)
  • Experience in using Distributed Control System equipment
  • Control instrumentation experience
  • Will be required to work shift rotations and standby on a remote located site
  • Portuguese and English proficient
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of quality, environment, health & safety control systems
