New Technology Development Officer (m/f)

PSI is recruiting a New Technology Development Officer (m/f), to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Manage all electronic devices and equipment and ensure its full operation for field activities
  • Ensure the devices and systems provide accurate programming information on a timely basis to support management decision making
  • Develop new systems to meet emerging organizational needs
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance existing systems
  • Provide assistance in identifying the best technologies to be used in accomplishing various tasks in line with organizational/programmatic goals
  • Identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements
  • Data base management ensuring that all databases are formatted efficiently to talk to MIS systems
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) documents for electronic equipment use, systems and programs
  • Analyze and document day to day operations of users at a programing level as well as system level
  • Advise on loopholes and assist in recommending optimal modes of operation
  • Write detailed SOPs based on observations and findings
  • Liaise with field team (health promoters and nurses) on PSI’s system related issues
  • Meet with field team (IPC supervisors, promoters and nurses) to come up with most efficient and cost-effective services and acquisition of system resources
  • Structure and organize trainings for PSI staff and partners on how to use the app
  • Develop training manuals and documents
  • Lead training activities for PSI staff and partner
Requisites
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field
  • Five years working experience in a relevant IT environment with extensive technical knowledge
  • Substantial exposure to Health Systems Environment
  • Understanding of complex information and requirements
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Fluency or strong working knowledge of oral and written Portuguese and English
  • Ability to disseminate messages to different types of audiences
  • Good planning and organization Skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
