Market Facilitator – Microfinance, Access to Finance

DAI is preparing for an anticipated programme that will make sustainable improvements in the livelihoods of the rural poor through increased financial inclusion. Working with public and private stakeholders, the programme will facilitate improvements in the financial service market system; supporting macro, meso, and micro-level improvements that lead to a wider range of financial services and delivery mechanisms benefitting poor households and micro, small and medium enterprises in Mozambique.

Duties
  • Ensuring the participation and engagement of key stakeholders within the Mozambican financial sector, government, and rural/agricultural sectors
  • Facilitating existing players in Mozambique to advance financial inclusion
  • Identifying necessary investments or improvements in areas such as financial product development, financial capabilities/literacy, and financial infrastructure, including mobile platforms, etc
Requisites
  • At least 8 years of experience within Mozambican private sector development
  • Advanced Degree or Masters in Development Finance, Microfinance or relevant related fields
  • Specific expertise in microfinance, financial literacy, and financial product development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Mozambican microfinance sector
  • Project experience facilitating access to finance for rural-based customers in agricultural and non-agricultural-based sectors
  • Experience working with and developing gender-based organisations in rural Mozambique
  • Extensive understanding of and experience with rural saving, credit schemes, and insurance products
  • Experience developing and/or implementing innovative products and solution for access to finance in remote areas
  • Experience working on donor funded programmes
  • Significant networking and relationship management skills
  • Understanding of key approaches to monitoring and evaluation desirable
