CESVI is recruiting a Livestock Officer (m/f), to be based in Nhamatanda, Mozambique.
Duties
  • Supports the design of livestock restocking, training, monitoring activities with the lead of team supervisor
  • Support the design of the fishing equipment distribution, training and monitoring activities with the lead of the team supervisor
  • Provide technical support to livestock restocking activities under the supervision of team supervisor
  • Provide technical support to fishing equipment recovery activities under the supervision of team supervisor
  • Organizes and facilitates livestock management trainings and monitoring activities under the supervision of team supervisor
  • Organizes and facilitates fishing sensitization sessions and monitoring activities under the supervision of team supervisor
  • Participates in other CESVI field activities upon the request of the project manager
  • Provides daily verbal and weekly narrative reports on livestock and fishing bad and good practices and program progress to team supervisor
  • Contributes in project reports as per the request of the team supervisor
  • Coordinates with community groups, representatives, beneficiaries on livestock and fishing activities
  • Fully complies with security plans and protocols and code of conduct
Requisites
  • At least 2 years of experience in livestock management is a must
  • Experience in freshwater fishing is highly desirable
  • Professional experience in working with rural communities is a must
  • Fluency in Portuguese is a must
  • Knowledge of animal welfare as well as integrated livestock management is desired
  • Previous experience with humanitarian or development organizations is desired
  • Knowledge of Nhamatanda District and particularly Bebedo and Nhampoca localities desired
  • Degree in veterinary, agriculture, rural developments or related is preferable
  • Good command of Sena and Ndau is desired
  • Good command of English is desired
  • Good command of Microsoft Excel, Word is desired
  • Ownership of a motorbike license is a must
